This was a pinch-me-I'm-dreaming wedding.
As I arrived at and explored the grounds of the Estancia La Jolla Hotel, I was greeted with hugs, hellos, and big, beautiful smiles from this incredibly sweet couple.
They gave me so much time to work with, and given the gorgeous location, the overflowing florals, and of course, the stunning couple themselves, I couldn't be more grateful.
Summer may be pretty much here, but I'm throwin' it back to fall of '16 today. I LOVE fall weddings. And Julia and Ryan completely embraced the fall theme in the best way.
I had been looking forward to Cailen and Matt’s wedding since their engagement session, and it was everything I hoped.
These two are getting MARRIED today!!!And with their big day, my wedding season is back in full swing.
Vow renewal. Yes please. In New Orleans. YES PLEASE.
The sweetest couple with the sweetest pups. This was my first engagement session in San Diego, and I couldn’t have asked for a better couple to start a new city with.
Vow renewals are rad. This one especially.
Brenna & Lucas' engagement session was one of my first in California after moving to the Golden State in July, and man, did I fall in love with this place and these two right away.
In the spirit of needing to give some love to my blog (so neglected for so long!), I decided that I'm going to go ahead and share some sneak peeks, and give you guys a little taste of what I'm currently working on. Let's start with Addison and Zach's wedding from last weekend.
"At the age of 19, I tattooed some stuff on my left hand, on my fingers, and a lot of people got mad, thinking I was going to be stopping myself from potentially getting a job. For me, it wasn’t so much of a stopping point – it was more motivation to just keep pursuing what I love to do." -chris phipps
"this is super weird, but this is something that I created, and nobody else created, so I’m going to post it." -siera wildey
Julia & Ryan are getting married in a week and a half and I'm REALLY excited. Back in May, we explored Balboa Park together, wandering through the beautiful old architecture and lush green ravines, dodging tourists and finding the best little pockets for photo gold.
Back in May I made my very first trip to San Diego, as we were getting ready to make the great SoCal move a month later. I just fell in love with this city right away.
On the morning of her wedding, I asked Taylor, "What are you most excited for today?" A giant smile spread across her face, and she answered "I get to marry Johnny today!" That's my kind of bride.
I love maternity sessions. Expectant mommas totally have this goddess-type glow going on that fuels my little ol' creative soul, and makes for some rad photos. Hannah totally rocked that goddess glow.
I love it when I find my people. The kind of couples where we spend the whole session laughing, talking, exploring, and suddenly it's an hour or two later and the time just flew by. Katherine & Paul are my people.
So, rural Georgia is gorgeous. So gorgeous.
So when Johanna told me she and Chuck would be getting married in a little town called Thomaston, I was thrilled. As I drove through rolling hills and quiet farmland on my way to Bently Farm, I was even more excited.
Big old trees everywhere, gentle streams and wide open fields, a beautiful old barn, and lots of cows - it was straight-out-of-the-movies magical.
Brittany & Seth may have had to scramble for a new venue, and the skies may have been threatening a thunderstorm all day, but they totally rolled with it. Goodness gracious their wedding was definitely a favorite. Overcast skies, beautiful old school grounds filled with a variety of rich textures, delicate details and dreamy bouquets - it was this photographer's dream.
Put your ceremony under a gigantic old southern tree, and your wedding will instantly be a favorite. Between working with this wonderfully sweet couple and the beautiful backdrop of the Tiger Point Golf Club, this wedding started my 2016 season off with the most dynamic start.
