I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times over: I love getting the opportunity to work with my wedding couples before the big day. Even if it's only three days before.
Mindy & Alex are from Indiana, and traveled down to Destin for the beach wedding they had dreamed of. They were there for the week leading up to the wedding, so the Wednesday before I got to nab some photos of them and Mindy's family on the beach.
And I'm so so so glad I did. The connection was instant, and Mindy and Alex were a dream in front of the camera (thanks to Mindy's mom Cindy, who is a photographer herself). I got to chat with them and Mindy's family, and it just fit.
So when Saturday came, it felt more like I was shooting for family more than anything. It also helped that both families were just so much fun to be around. I've been lucky enough and so thankful that all my couples and their families have welcomed me warmly. But with Mindy & Alex's wedding especially, I felt so incredibly welcomed and brought into the fold, even in just the two days I spent with them.
So guys & gals, if you have the opportunity, let's do an engagement session before your big day. Already have engagement photos? Let's call it portrait session. Let's get together, let's hang out, let's get to know each other. Because when we've got those good vibes going, you're happy, I'm happy, and the photos are just that much better, I promise.
(Oh & side note? They used the most gorgeous beach house for their reception. For real. Give me a three-story beach house with a rooftop balcony every day, please.)
