Vow renewals are rad.
They're especially rad when you've been declared cancer-free and get to enjoy your anniversary on a west coast adventure, ending with an exchange of vows at sunset in San Diego, wearing your dream dress.
Last September at the Hotel del Coronado, Julienne and Alan shared an intimate vow renewal on the beach, a delicious picnic dinner as the sunset faded, and s'mores by the fire, with champagne all along the way.
You guys, I am so lucky. I've had the opportunity to work with some beautifully unique couples, couples that are totally my speed and my style. Julienne and Alan are so my people. I'm so sad they live all the way over on the east coast, because the moment I found out that they met at a renaissance fair I knew we would get along swimmingly.
And we did. I couldn't be more thankful and honored that they brought me into their world for a day, letting me laugh and explore and talk with them for hours. It was the kind of connection where you feel as though you've known them for several years instead of a day.
That's the kind of connection I seek with all my couples. I'm capturing some of the best moments of your life, and I want to capture your true self. The real you.
That's why I love elopements, intimate weddings and vow renewals so much. While I certainly have this connection with full weddings as well, there's something about the intimacy of these smaller events that strikes a special chord with me.
There's such a quiet beauty in the simplicity.
A subtle emphasis on the most important thing: you.
Your connection. Your story. Your love. Your beautiful, weird, unique, wonderful, you.
