There was so much about Ian and Zack’s wedding day that I just absolutely loved.
Their adorable Corgi Buster hanging out while they got ready in their stylish apartment. Alllll of the time we had to take some killer portraits. Shooting at a wedding venue I haven’t shot at for years. The love, happiness and excitement spilling over from their friends and family.
And of course, the love between Ian and Zack.
I’ve known Ian since we were kids in my old neighborhood in Woodinville, hanging out on rooftops and playing Donkey Kong 64. Though life took us to different parts of the country, we would keep in touch, and when he asked me to be his wedding photographer I was thrilled.
Photographing weddings is already a wonderful thing to be a part of. But when it’s someone you know, a friend you care deeply about — seeing that joy and love and happiness firsthand, radiating from the inside out — it’s incredibly special.
And seeing Ian with Zack, and Zack with Ian — from the moment we met, to their engagement photos, to their wedding — I knew deep within me that my dear friend had found the man he was meant to love, and the man who would love him whole-heartedly in return.
How incredible is love, guys?
(p.s., you may notice I have like, a thousand portraits of them. It’s because they gave me SO much time, which is so awesome, because we really got to explore the city and get creative. So, if you want some rad portraits, just give me some extra time on your wedding day.)
