This was a pinch-me-I'm-dreaming wedding.
On the morning of her wedding, I asked Taylor, "What are you most excited for today?" A giant smile spread across her face, and she answered "I get to marry Johnny today!" That's my kind of bride.
I love maternity sessions. Expectant mommas totally have this goddess-type glow going on that fuels my little ol' creative soul, and makes for some rad photos. Hannah totally rocked that goddess glow.
I love it when I find my people. The kind of couples where we spend the whole session laughing, talking, exploring, and suddenly it's an hour or two later and the time just flew by. Katherine & Paul are my people.
There's something to be said for New Year's Eve weddings, and Natalie and Josh sure did make it a good one.
Capetra & Lee totally brought their style A-game to their engagement photos last December. I was certain this session was going to be a knockout, and it totally was.
I love love love shooting with friends.
When you work with someone you know, especially someone you call a friend, you don't have the slightly awkward getting-to-know-you jitters. It's a seamless blend right into the good stuff, knockout photos right off the bat.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs, especially when you're in the military. Curveballs like planning an evening wedding in April but then suddenly having to move it to a Thursday afternoon in November.
But Christa and Duncan took it in stride, and their gorgeous Gatsby-themed wedding was perfection.
Details, details, details.
I can't say it enough: it's the little things that add that extra oopmh of personality and beauty to your wedding day. Tatianna & Lane did an excellent job of paying attention to the little things, which made their gorgeous Gainesville wedding that much more lovely.
When a beach wedding has a solid breeze and dramatic heavy clouds that the setting sun pierces through, that totally works for me.
Hillary & James' wedding last October was one such wedding. With their families and close friends, they traveled to Pensacola to say their vows in between the sand dunes of Pensacola Beach. It may have gotten a little cold (read: it was real cold) once the sun set and the wind picked up, but this group celebrated into the night regardless.
Every wedding I get to photograph stands out in one way or another. Morgan & Kevin's had one of the best receptions I've ever experienced.
You guys, I love pups.
Having two Great Danes of my own, I completely understood why, when Lydiah first asked me to take portraits for her and her husband Tyler, she asked if they could include their pup. I told her, absolutely.
The best part of OSTS: the photographers.
It's incredible how inspiring and refreshing it is to be surrounded by like-minded, passionate, talented creatives like these amazing women. We swapped stories, ideas, and pens. We learned together and helped each other, and we continue to do so.
One of my fav-fav-favorite parts of OSTS: the model shoot.
On day two, Andria took us ladies and two good-lookin' people (Talia and Bryan) out and about in Nashville. It was overcast (my favorite), windy, and these two totally brought it.
