As we enter the last month of summer, I’m looking back to the end of last fall.Specifically, at Kristie and David's gorgeous, romantic Jacksonville wedding.
Brittany & Seth may have had to scramble for a new venue, and the skies may have been threatening a thunderstorm all day, but they totally rolled with it. Goodness gracious their wedding was definitely a favorite. Overcast skies, beautiful old school grounds filled with a variety of rich textures, delicate details and dreamy bouquets - it was this photographer's dream.
Put your ceremony under a gigantic old southern tree, and your wedding will instantly be a favorite. Between working with this wonderfully sweet couple and the beautiful backdrop of the Tiger Point Golf Club, this wedding started my 2016 season off with the most dynamic start.
Capetra & Lee totally brought their style A-game to their engagement photos last December. I was certain this session was going to be a knockout, and it totally was.
Sometimes life throws you curveballs, especially when you're in the military. Curveballs like planning an evening wedding in April but then suddenly having to move it to a Thursday afternoon in November.
But Christa and Duncan took it in stride, and their gorgeous Gatsby-themed wedding was perfection.
I've said it before and I'll say it a thousand times over: I love getting the opportunity to work with my wedding couples before the big day. Even if it's only three days before.
Mindy & Alex are from Indiana, and traveled down to Destin for the beach wedding they had dreamed of. I got to nab some photos of them a few days prior, which meant when it came to the wedding day, it felt like I was shooting for family.
Details, details, details.
I can't say it enough: it's the little things that add that extra oopmh of personality and beauty to your wedding day. Tatianna & Lane did an excellent job of paying attention to the little things, which made their gorgeous Gainesville wedding that much more lovely.
When a beach wedding has a solid breeze and dramatic heavy clouds that the setting sun pierces through, that totally works for me.
Hillary & James' wedding last October was one such wedding. With their families and close friends, they traveled to Pensacola to say their vows in between the sand dunes of Pensacola Beach. It may have gotten a little cold (read: it was real cold) once the sun set and the wind picked up, but this group celebrated into the night regardless.
Every wedding I get to photograph stands out in one way or another. Morgan & Kevin's had one of the best receptions I've ever experienced.
You guys, I love pups.
Having two Great Danes of my own, I completely understood why, when Lydiah first asked me to take portraits for her and her husband Tyler, she asked if they could include their pup. I told her, absolutely.
Last fall was a whirlwind. Travel, holidays, engagements, weddings: one those times in your life when you blink and suddenly it's four months later.
But in that whirlwind there were amazing weddings, like Milla & Casey's.
